Artist's Comments

i couldn't resist finishing this one off after all, and seeing 4 lessons where cancelled at uni today, i had a little extra time. i probably should have spent it working on my projects, but it had to be done :P.

Anyway I have been working on this one for quite some time, never getting to a satisfactory result. I think i started around febuary.

Nebula is partly painted partly texture work. Extensive work on the planet textures. i see possible improvement there though (i hope).

Other than usually i worked in reverse for this piece. i started with the background, then went on to the smaller of the two giants, then added the bigger one (which went through various stages, but in the end this is pretty close to the first version of it). The Nebula/Stardust/Cloud was last if you don't count smaller details.

I may upload multiple versions of this, as some are very different from others, but this is the "official" final result.

Thx for viewing. Hope you like it.

Thx to *SamODJ for your help in the earlier stages (you may not even remember :P)

Yay, first to view it at 10 seconds old ( not counting on first comment, someone will beat me lol ) But with that aside, This looks nice, very soft, dreamy lighting and colours, no over-sharpened planets at all :D and when you said i probably should have spent it working on my projects, but it had to be done let me say that I have done that same thing all too often :movingon:

Well, like always > fav :D.

It is very ,,soft" work, how did you get this efect ? :)
:iconbaro:

XD first after all. glad you like it man. *rushes back to uni work*

great work.. I love the soft feeling of the planets, also the subtle textures on the planet fit the piece really well. Only comments are the nebula in the bottom.. I think you should make those a bit less obvious.. well dunno hard to explain what I mean but they look really fake whilst the rest of the piece looks pretty realistic.

anyways great job mate awesome piece :)

Nice stuff here. I'm often skeptical about this, but here I really like the softness of it. Planets are really nice, and subtle. Just watch out for your star pattern being too linear, looks a little strange, but not such a problem

really great work man I love it the textures on the planets are great
