Once again, I've been working on my nebula painting. I'm very happy with the way this turned out and that I finally managed to create a nebula/light thing with character.
When I started with this I only had the one big planet and tried to create a nebula to match, but i didn't really work out. Once done it still looked like only half finished, so i started from scratch and tried to use a different technique. The result is what you see.
I don't know how many layers this picture contains of, but my computer really was struggleing while I was working on this. Adding it all up i guess that there must have been 250-300 original layers. The photoshop file is 170mb (with a lot of layers merged down).
The image you see is 75% size of the original. 4 Days of work on and off.
This is absolutely gorgeous - utterly magical! I saw the colours in the thumbnail and simply had to click it, and I'm glad I did.
How exactly do you go about creating these images?
Thank you . I'm glad you like it. Well it usually all stars with a planet . I dunno exactly how i start on something. Either there is an idea or image in my head or i just go with the flow. Anyway, thx for the comment.
thank you. I painted the nebula with the brush tool and you're right, there was also some smudging going on .
No I don't have a tablet, although i wish i had...

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
