...mhh where to start, where to start? I think i started working on this one about one and a half months ago, but through lack of motivation in the last few weeks it took me ages to get going. Anyway i noticed that i hadn't submitted anything for more than a month (O_O)...
I started off with the planet and stared adjusting the terragen render very early aswell, after that i painted the nebula, electrostatic, swirly thing you see to the bottom right of the planet. For a long time that was as far as i got and every idea i had didn't fit in. So you can call this a typical "creative process piece of work". I really didn't have a proper idea where this was going most of the time.
I'll let you figure out the title for on your own, i don't think that is too difficult, but i like the title and there might be more to it that you think.
The final picture itself is put together out of 2 terragen renders and 2 apophysis renders (i now they are not immediately visible to the eye, but they are there), the rest and most of the picture is photoshop as usual. The psd image was about 130mb which was definitly too much for my computer, so i had to save a "semi-version" of the picture as jpg and insert the layers which where not included in this above it. After that the new psd file was still about 50mb, but it actually made it possible to work on the picture. I definitely need a new pc (which i luckily can afford by now, so i'm going to pick up new components today :> ). Maybe i will give this one a toch up later on, because it really was a pain in the ass not being able to access all the layers when there was still so much to do. I had to make compromises and i do not wish to have to do so in the future. I believe i could have given you a better final product if my pc had had played along...
...anyway i think it's still a good pic and all comments and 's are truely appreciated.
Amazing as usual dude. The composition is brill and the detail isn't too overwhelming. My only crit is the light above the moon. It doesn't look right. Maybe if it was like the green at the bottom right of the moon but thicker, it would look and flow better? My two cents anyway.
Wow. Where to start? First off the colors are F-ing awesome. Second I love the crazy swirly streams. Third, the landscape works great with the texture of the planet. Only thing I dont like is the blurry horizon. It just doesnt look right. But this piece is still worth a fav IMO.
thx. X-P ("amazing as usual" <--- what makes my day, thx for that *o*). Yeah the lighting of the moon was a bit of a problem... i'm still trying to improve my feel for the proper lighting.
thx man. haha you got me. yeah i don't lik the horizon either, but i had to blur it a little, because the edges came out to pixely in the end (don't ask me why).
i hoped that no one would notice, but this just shows that artists are challenged at DA, because there are people who take a closer look. I guess it's not too bad you picked that up.
