The blue planet. Probably the most beautiful of all. But we rage war, destroy the rainforrest, which is the natural habitat to an uncounted number of plants and animals, and pollute the air we breathe. The climate is changing. Natural Catastrophies are happening more often and more powerfully. Ice from the south and northpole is melting, pooring more and more fresh water into the ocean every day, which endangers the golfstream of dwingling. Ice age.

Next one up. Been working on this one for the past three or four days. I wanted to show earth in an unusual way. So here you are looking at it from above northern europe and greenland. to the top you can see afrika, to the bottom right north america disappears in the shadow and to the left you can make out india and asia. To get this perspective i had to sphere the textures in a 3d program (i used blender). Atmosphere, shadow, starfield and all the details are photoshop though.
And yes i know that no explosion is as huge as that, pollution doesn't reach out into space, greenland has no great lakes and even the big hurricanes may be smaller.
I hope you like it.
Comments are most welcome .
EDIT (31.12.2007): Edited the Lighting a little...
I am still learning Blender but how do you edit your picture using photoshop? This is a beautiful piece! It delivers a very powerful message so don't be worried about anything being "overdone". It goes great with the message.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
