Artist's Comments

You might think there's not much to this image but there is. This took me a long time concidering that the composition is pretty simple. I put a lot of work in the lighting.
It was also difficult to get a resonably interesting background to fit with the planet without overdoing it. I also had the aim to create a good planet texture this time. I think the one from my last work ( [link] ) doesn't have enough detail. So you might call this a back to basics piece of work. Just (nearly) plain boring spaceart. :p
When i got the idea for this i wanted a very close planet that takes up most of the picture. But i also wanted to create an open setting so that the feeling of deep space would come to mind.
This picture is all about how a planet is shown through the influence of light, darkness (deep space) and perspective.

I hope you like it. Comments and :+fav:'s are very appreciated.

Full view is a must.

Thats an awsome pic. I love the detail in the planet and the sun effects. One question tho. Whats that smokey stuff coming from the sun, is it radiation? I really love it.
