Sat on this one quite long. At one point I had the planets completed but didn't really know what to make of the rest of the picture. After a day or so just leaving it to itslef I had the idea of an explosion on the small planet put it didn't really turn out properly. But today I really sat down at it and concentrated just on the explosion and worked with additional textures painting and blending. Well this is what I made of it. hf.

i like the texture of the blast :D the flames, and the meteors themselves (the blue bolts), look a bit drawn, not so much firey. Perhaps just draw a selection around the flames and the meteors, and run a cloud filter in that shape on another layer, and then just play around with that layers blending style (the dropdown box that says 'normal', 'overlay', etc. whatever its called. lol) that'll give it a bit of a randomy burny texture thing. lol

great stuff here. I think the clouds (nebula?) could be alot more detailed, but I love the explosion on the planet

sry no tutorial I just went on trying untill i got what i wanted. But the explosion is mostly painted.
